Workforce Development Board


The Workforce Development Board was created under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. It serves as a convening body to discuss and advance workforce solutions that meet the needs of job seekers and businesses throughout Virginia’s Capital Region. (The counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Powhatan and the City of Richmond). Members are appointed by the elected officials of each jurisdiction. The Board also shares responsibility with those elected officials in the oversight of federal funds received from the US Department of Labor for the provision of employment and training services.
