What is Resource?
Resource is a local, federally funded, workforce development service system that works to increase private sector employment opportunities and to ensure the integration of services to prepare individuals to meet the needs of business and industry in the Richmond, Virginia region. Resource also oversees the activities authorized under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
We are governed by a regional council of local elected officials as well as a business-lead Workforce Development Board.
What Does Resource Do?
By developing and maintaining a quality workforce, and by serving as the focal point for integrated local and regional workforce development initiatives, Resource aims to transform the workforce development system in order to advance the economic wellbeing of the region. We envision a high quality of life for all residents, employees and employers in the Capital Region of Virginia, including the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent and Powhatan, as well as the City of Richmond.
